“SELF-CYCLE™ IS THE PROCESS IN WHICH OUR CASES UTILIZE BUILT-IN MATERIALS TO BIODEGRADE* INTO BIOMASS TO BE REUSED BY NATURE”

SELF-CYCLE™

Each person in the U.S generates the equivalent of 3,700 bottles of plastic waste each year. 90% of this waste goes to a landfill, regardless of disposal method. This somewhat temporary solution will result in an estimated 4 billion metric tons of this plastic escaping these landfills and entering the environment by 2050.

The goal of Self-Cycle™ technology is simple. We want to create solutions for the end-of-life process of plastic so that plastic can’t pollute the environment for decades to come. This means when customers recycle their Pivet cases or responsibly dispose of them in the trash, they can rest assured that no matter what happens to their case, Self-Cycle™ technology will utilize its built-in materials to biodegrade into bio-mass to be reused by nature in just a few years.

THE SCIENCE

Self-Cycle™ technology is only possible because of the years our teams have spent working with experts at TOTO-TOA® to develop. When treated with plastic TOTO-TOA® makes that plastic bio-available to nature’s decaying agents in just a matter of years. Its effects have been independently tested and verified by Intertek.

*Testing done under ASTM D5511 & ISO15985-14 shows that some biologically active landfills without oxygen could biodegrade TOA-TPU by 25.68% and TOA-PC by 29.58% after 6 months under ideal conditions. Actual biodegradation rates will vary in biologically-active landfills according to the type of plastic used, the product configuration, and the solid content, temperature and moisture levels of the landfill. Please ask your local waste or recycling authority if this type of collection or waste disposal facilities exist for the product. This product is not considered biodegradable in some States including California, Maryland, or Washington.
